Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are small, oval, flat insects. Their coloration can range from a mahogany brown to a rusty brown. They will turn bright red after feeding on blood. There are about 16 species in the U.S. While feeding bed bugs often leave the remains of theor last partially digested meal resulting in small rusty spots which can be seen on bedding. Bed bugs are nocturnal and feed only on blood. They live in loose groups or clusters and like to occupy cracks and crevices. Their bite is essentially painless. Females can lay one to five eggs a day and up to 500 in its lifetime. Eggs hatch in six to ten days.
